[VIDEO] COVID-19: Ecuador in chaos, creates emergency cemetery as dead bodies litter streets


    Report reaching THE DAILY VENDOR has it that police in Ecuador have removed at least 800 bodies in recent weeks from homes in Guayaquil, the epicenter of the country’s COVID-19 outbreak, after the disease overwhelmed emergency services, hospitals, and mortuaries.

    According to a report, mortuary workers in the Pacific port city have been unable to cope with a backlog, with residents posting videos on social media showing abandoned bodies litter the streets.

    Ecuador has recorded 7,500 cases of COVID-19 since the first diagnosis was confirmed In February 29.

    While the coastal province of Guayas is the worse hit with over 70 percent of those infected in the country, with 4,000 cases in the capital Guayaquil, according to the national government
