COVID-19: Adamawa Orders Closure of Public, Private Schools

Adamawa Government has directed all schools to close down academic activities on Friday, March 27 as a preventive measure against the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to the state.

The directive was contained in a statement by the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Wilbina Jackson and made available to journalists on Thursday in Yola.

Jackson said: “All Schools must conduct their examinations and close on Friday, March 27, 2020.

“This becomes necessary and urgent due to the mode of transmission update of the COVID-19 by professionals in the health sector.

“Meanwhile health talks and personal hygiene should be intensified amongst the students and pupils.

” The above should be highly adhered to by all authorities concerned,” Jackson said.
