Clerics inaugurate Special Trust Fund to resettle flood victims 

…the Special Trust Fund is to aggregate urgent financial and material support for flood victims across the country

Christian Association of Clergies in Nigeria, CAC-Nigeria, a legal entity and policy body of Nigerian Christian Clergies, and a general welfare and interest for Clergies body has set up Special Trust Fund to aggregate urgent financial and material support for flood victims across the country.

The group expressed sadness over the pathetic experience and excruciating suffering on millions of displaced persons, in Nigeria due to the devastating flood in over 30 States of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement by CAC-Nigeria, signed by its National Coordinator, His Lordship, Bishop Justice Alpha Justice and Director of Humanitarian Affairs, Most Rev. Dr. Michael Chukwudum, the group also lamented over what it called pathetic predicament of flood victims in Nigeria.

According to the CAC-Nigeria, “It is no longer news that these internally displaced person lost their houses, monies, properties,  farmlands, crops, livestock and in fact their source of livelihood, hence the urgent need for all and sundry to share in the pains and agony of these displaced persons by providing for their resettlement.

“This fund is aimed at repositioning and rehabilitating them as they leave the IDP Camps. We therefore appeal to people to invest their God given recourse on providing succour to the flood victims by donating willingly, handsomely, cheerfully and generously to the funds.

“The trust is to mobilize funds locally and internationally by attracting aids, grants donations from individuals, Governors and legislators and Nigerians in the Diaspora, donor agencies and government and non governmental organizations willing to assist. 

“Your donation of love will in no small measures help in mitigating the sufferings of the flood victims and putting smiles on their faces.”
