…Organizers said cars of 70s and before were participating in the event
LANDIKOTAL: Frontier Corps (North) and Khyber Pakhunkhwa Sports and Youth Affairs arranged 13th vintage car rally on Saturday.
The rally started from Bala Hisar in Peshawar on December 2, and went to sawabi on the same day.
Total 56 classic cars and bikes between 1930 to 1970s took part in the vintage car rally. The rally moved to Khyber district on december on 3, and had brief stop at Bab-e-Khyber.
Locals and schools children warmly welcomed the cars rally participants at various historical points in district Khyber.
Rally organizers said cars of 70s and before were participating in the event.The vintage vehicles rally reached to hillstop Michni check post where they were received warmly. The rally was escorted by paramilitary troops and police. The participants were briefed about the historical and stratigical importance of Khyber pass at Michni check post.
Later the participants of the rally were drove to Khyber Rafiles where they were offered tradional foods and Khattak,Mehsud and chitrali dances.The rally ended at Michni check post. Talking to mediamen in Landikotal rally participants included women thanked Frontier Corps officials and Jawans for their hospitality and coooeration. They said that the rally participants realy enjoyed the travel passing through a number of historical places in Khyber.
The cars would be displayed in December 4, in Peshawar.
