CHRSJ Petitions Police over threat to life of a night watchman in Osun

A human rights organization, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has forwarded a Petition Letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) in-charge of Zone X1 comprises of Osun and Oyo States and Osun State Commissioner of Police, calling for an investigation over a threat to the life of Mr. Hazzan Musefiu Akanho with phone number:-08083802511 by one Pastor Olaniyi Samuel with phone number:-08067231420.

The group also raised the allegation of conspiracy by Pastor Samuel’s wife with phone number:-08130974748 and their family friend called “Amos” with phone number:-08051512700, saying that they conspired with armed robbery gang leader, Ibrahim Omo Alhaja and his godfather called”Aro” by employing them to eliminate Akanho and his family members for challenging their friendship with known gang robbery
leader in question.

It was alleged that the known armed robbery gang leader, Omo Alhaja had earlier lead his robbery gang to attack the Pure Water factory where Akanho was night watchman and he was nearly killed by the gang on the fateful day but for God intervention, adding that the matter
was reported at Egbedore Police station, Awo but it was gathered that
Pastor Samuel and his co-travelers foiled all the efforts of the
police to unravel the robbery attack on the pure Water factory.

But it was later learnt that it seemed Pastor Samuel, his wife and
Amos had pre-knowledge of the robbery attack as a way to prevent them
from paying sum of accumulated One Hundred and Thirty Five Thousand
Naira (N135,0000) salaries being owing their night watch(Akanho) and
this lead to the pre-arrange robbery operation attack.

The Petition revealed that Akanho, 30, was a son of the Oluode of the ancient town of Awo, the headquarters of Egbedore Local government area of Osun State and a night watchman of the Pure water factory
(Aqua-Olasco) located at Awo junction, along Iwo-Osogbo road, owned by Pastor Samuel between April 2018 to July 2019, .

According to the Petition Letter dated 1st of June, 2020 and signed by CHRSJ’S Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, which
copies were made available to newsmen on Wednesday, alleged that
Samuel was using the Pure Water factory as a trap for unsuspected
members of the public who were seeking employment in the factory with
ulterior motive.

The Petition Letter read in part; “We were reliably informed that the so-called Pastor Olaniyi Samuel, his wife and his representative in
the said Pure Water factory, Amos, were planning to silently eliminate the life of Hazzan Musefiu Akanho through their agents and cohorts,
Aro and Ibrahim Omo Alhaja, so as to ensure that N135, 000 salaries owing the Petitioner were not paid.

“It was discovered that the so-called’ Aqua-Olasco Pure Water factory
was intentionally established to serve as a bait to trap unsuspected
victims like Complainant/Petitioner and this was the reason why
Aqua-Olasco Pure Water factory was totally and absolutely sealed off by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) till this present moment.”

Sulaiman therefore called for immediate arrest of Pastor Samuel and his co- travelers for thorough investigation and possible prosecution,
adding that Akanho’s should not be allowed to cut short at his prime age by camouflage Pastor and his cohorts because they have been hell bent to eliminate him (Akanho).
