In preparation for huge vehicular movements on the occasion of Christmas festivities, motorists have been enjoined to obey traffic rules or face the music.
The Anambra State Commissoner of Police, Echeng Echeng (CP) handed down the warning at Bridge Head, Onitsha on Friday.
He noted that it is expected that many travellers would pass through the in the course of going home for the Yuletide but added violation of traffic rules will not be tolerated.
CP Echeng pointed out that the security agencies would collaborate to ensure that there is no traffic holdup on the road during the Christmas and new year celebrations.
The Anambra State Commissoner of Police flanked by top echelons of the Army, FRSC, and officials of the state government said that adequate punishment awaits any motorist who violate trades laws in the state.
He added that part of the punishment awaiting a would be offender is that such individual may be detained through out the Yuletide.
“Obey the traffic rules, we are in partnership with other Sister Agencies and State Government to control the traffic. It is our wish that all the road users pass without any hitch”. CP Echeng insisted.
