China and India yesterday held a commander level meeting at the border in Ladakh to discuss issues relating to conflicts in the zone.
The meeting is said to be the 13th meeting between the two countries.
The high-level meeting which was held on the Chusul-Moldo border in Ladakh, on 10th October 2021 Sunday, is considered by the informed quarters to be very significant. It is expected that the meeting will discuss the withdrawal of troops from the conflict zones in eastern Ladakh.
Now let’s see if any new light of hope comes out from that meeting. Even after one-on-one military meetings between India and China, solutions have remained elusive.
Despite repeated talks on troops withdrawal and the peace process, China has not spoken out. Beijing has been repeatedly accused of aggression. That is why there is still a problem with restoring stability.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt that Yesterday, Indian Army Chief MM Naravan warned that if China did not withdraw its troops from the de facto Line of Control (LoC) in Ladakh, India would not do so either.
In fact, a few days ago, 200 Chinese troops were trying to enter India through Arunachal Pradesh. It is expected that this issue will also come up in the meeting on Sunday.
In June-July last year, China was accused of provocative behavior on the Ladakh border more than once. In fact, a number of Indian soldiers were martyred while trying to stop their aggression. Since then, the Indian Army has stepped up its efforts to protect the Ladakh border.
Besides, the issue of troops withdrawal has been discussed repeatedly with Beijing. However, some of the benefits of multiple meetings. The two sides have already withdrawn troops from Gogra, Pangong and Hot Spring areas in eastern Ladakh.
