The lawmaker representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Obinna Chidoka on Friday, March 17, 2023 commissioned another solar powered borehole in Eziowelle, Idemili North Local Goverment Area of Anambra State.
Hon. Chidoka had commenced the installation of the solar powered borehole project shortly before the February 25 general election with a project time of two months.
Recall that the hardworking legislator had in 2021 installed a brand new 500kva transformer for the community in response to their request for his intervention to improve electricity efficiency.
The lawmaker popularly called Ife Idemili by his constituents during the commissioning ceremony noted that the water project was for the entire community and not exclusively for his party, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) members.
He urged the community leaders to ensure that the facility is properly maintained and secured to better serve the community.
The women who were full of excitement and praises lauded Hon Chidoka for his interventions which they said have made direct impact in their lives.
The woman leader for the village, Mrs Christiana Odinammadu in her vote of thanks pointed out that their husbands may not understand the importance of water in the home as she explained the rigours and stress they go through to ensure the availability of water in their homes.
She expressed surprise that even after loosing his seat in the February 25 National Assembly election, the lawmaker still kept his promise and ensured the completion of the solar powered borehole in the community to improve their every day life.
During the project commissioning ceremony, the people-oriented lawmaker in-line with his economic empowerment program also gave a business boost to a constituent Mrs Martina Nwafor.
He doubled the trading capital of the business woman while promising to extend such gesture to other traders in the nearest future.
The lawmaker added that he is poised to assist traders in his constituency by attracting Federal Government business loans and grants to them.
He however urged the women who have already been empowered to extend support to others who are in need in the community.
The ward chairman of PDP in the community, Mr CAN Mbanefo thanked the lawmaker for his numerous interventions in the community.
He said as a matter of fact that no lawmaker in history has remembered the people of Eziowelle as Hon. Chidoka noting that the Obosi born legislator has attracted two major projects to the community.
Adding that his numerous uncommon projects in the community have earned him a special place in their hearts and history shall be indeed kind to him.
