Hon. Chidoka boosts businesses in Obosi, empowers youths

…accelerates work in full service to constituents

As part of his economic empowerment program, the lawmaker representing the good people of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Obinna Chidoka on Saturday 11th March 2023, empowered youths of Obinagu village, Ire Obosi, in Idemili North Local Goverment Area, Anambra State. 

The lawmaker had launched an economic empowerment program targeted at empowering the youths and women of his constituency.

While presenting a brand new Tricycle to Obinagu youths, Chidoka recalled how the youths’ commander told him that youths of the village come together to form a weekly contribution of N2000 each youth.

He said the youths do so over a period of one year just to save up a meaningful amount of money to purchase one new tricycle.

The tricycle when purchased is handed over to one beneficiary amongst them as they take turns to benefit from the weekly contribution.

The people-oriented lawmaker on hearing this, quickly rose to support the youths by presenting them with one brand new tricycle.

The lawmaker went on to give financial business support of N50,000 to another female constituent and Obinagu resident Mrs Ojinaka Nwangwu, to boost her fruits trading business.

Additionally, the lawmaker empowered a fashion designer, Mr Chigozie Charles with a brand new 3.5kva generator as a boost to steady power needed to keep his business thriving.

The fashion designer had cried to the lawmaker over what he described as epileptic power supply which he said has badly affected his sewing business. 

The lawmaker who promised to intervene, made good his promise by supporting his fashion business with a power generator.

Speaking during the presentations, the proactive legislator reiterated his resolve to change the economic fortunes of the youths in Obinagu, and Obosi as a whole.

He said he remains committed to supporting small businesses with government grants and economic empowerments, adding that he is determined to ensure that Obinagu youths are gainfully employed.

Recall that through Hon. Chidoka’s intervention, Mr Chinedu Muolokwu from Obosi received a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) loan amounting to N2,000,000, 

1st week of March 2023 to boost his business.

In conclusion, the lawmaker urged the youths to ensure that they engage themselves in sincere and legitimate means of livelihoods. Adding that in furtherance of his engagement with the youths, he will begin a periodic visit of their business premises for an on the spot assessment of their efforts or challenges to enable him fashion out possible ways of intervention.

He urged the youths of the area to ensure that they patronize one another to help boost economic activities in the community.

The youths and people of Obinagu amidst chants and praises thanked the lawmaker for what they described as massive economic intervention in the village.

Speaking after the presentation, the youth commander of the village, Mr Ifeanyi Okeke noted that the entire youths of the community have realized that Hon. Chidoka has their good interests at heart.

Adding that going forward, the entire youths of Obinagu will be solidly behind the lawmaker and will champion his future ambitions.
