Chelsea’s hitman gives reason for moving to Stamford Bridge

‘He made his debut for Chelsea in the 2019-2020 campaign’

Chelsea attacker, Armando Broja, has revealed the reason behind his decision to join the Blues from Tottenham Hotspur.

Broja impressed last term on loan at Premier League club, Southampton, scoring six goals in 32 matches.

The 21-year-old has featured in six matches across all competitions for the Blues so far this season.

The Albania international moved to Stamford Bridge in 2009 after a two-year spell in Tottenham’s academy.

He made his debut for the blues in the 2019-2020 campaign.

Speaking on his decision to move to Stamford Bridge from Spurs, Broja said “I remember going to a tournament. The Tottenham Hotspur scout actually came to watch another boy.

“I happened to obviously play well in that tournament and I got top goalscorer and I got the best player at the tournament, so they approached my mum and dad before I even knew about it.

“We moved over to the other side of the pitch and played the other team.

“We won 12-0, I think, and I scored 9. Straight after that, the two Chelsea guys came over and said, ‘wow, we want you’.

“When they said that, I did not think of anything else, I just wanted to join Chelsea.

“So eventually that obviously did happen, and I joined Chelsea at the end of U9s, the start of U10s, so I have been there since then.”
