Two people were reportedly killed on Thursday, when suspected Soldiers attacked the residence of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital.
It was gathered that several men in military uniform who were armed to the teeth stormed Igboho’s residence in Soka area of Ibadan at about 1AM on Thursday.
His spokesman, Oluyomi Koiki, confirmed that two people were killed in the attack and their corpses were taken away by the armed men.
Pictures and videos making the rounds on social media captured at the scene show blood in Igboho’s compound and living room where several properties worth millions were also destroyed. Images of cars parked in the premises also showed bullet holes and broken glasses.
It was also reported that a close ally of Igboho identified as ‘Lady K’ and some other persons who were in the house during the invasion were also whisked away.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt that Igboho was not in his home at the time of the attack.
The latest development is coming a few days to a mega rally involving Igboho and other separatist agitators. The rally was scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday.
The attack has created palpable tension in the area.
