[BREAKING] Rain wrecks havoc in FCT, over 34 person missing, houses, vehicles destroyed

Heavy downpour that began around 3am on Saturday July 25 morning in Gwagwalada Area of the Federal Capital Territory have left over thirty four person missing with property including vehicles destroyed.

The torrential rain which is still falling as at the time of filling this report around 10am have rendered the highway unmotorable for small vehicles.

Residents of Gwagwalada said they have not experienced such magnitude of flood since they have been in the area as all the houses in the river bank were flooded.

The first bank situated on the expressway was not spared as those who went to use the ATM were trapped by the surging water.

The linking bridge over the river in Gwagwalada on the highway to Abaji, where one of the numerous parks is situated was submerged by the water while all the houses along the banks of the river were flooded .

Gwagwalada is one of the six area councils that make up the Federal Capital Territory.
