Geoffrey Onyeama, the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, has tested positive to COVID-19.
Onyeama made this known on Sunday via his verified Twitter handle, saying his fourth COVID-19 test returned positive on Saturday.
Explaining his ordeal, the minister said he had felt an irritation in his throat and had had his samples collected for coronavirus test.
He noted that he was headed to an isolation centre while he hopes for quick recovery.
He wrote, “Did my fourth Covid-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive. That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best.”
As a member of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Onyeama is among those championing the fight against the pandemic, especially in the area of repatriation of stranded citizens abroad.
