Information reaching THE DAILY VENDOR from Imo State has it that an eight storey building still under construction has collapsed and trapped many in the state’s capital Owerri.
THE DAILY VENDOR correspondent gathered that the collapsed building is located along the Yar’Adua drive in Owerri, and close to Hot FM radio station.
An eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said that many people were trapped inside. She said over 17 people have been evacuated.
She further disclosed that people have started doing some excavation in search of more people that could possibly be trapped. Identity of the owner of the collapsed building is yet to be made known, a source however said it’s owned by someone from Izombe in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo state, but based abroad
