The former managing Director of the Petroleum Pricing Monitoring Corporation (PPMC) Suleiman Achimugu has died over night from the dreaded coronavirus. He is the second casualty in Nigeria. The first was an American national who died in Ekiti State.
It was gathered that Achimugu got back from the United Kingdom two weeks ago.
A source close to the family told Fox Channel that Achimugu started exhibiting symptoms of the virus on Tuesday. The family reported to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). They came to his residence and took his blood specimen and never got back to the family.
The source said as of yesterday afternoon (Sunday), he was coughing profusely. So they called the NCDC to inquire about his results. It turned out positive.
“They picked him up and rushed him to Gwagwalada. He died at 2am this morning.” “His family is currently under quarantine in their house” he said.
