Rampaging gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday 10th June 2020 blocked the Abuja – Lokoja highway kidnapping many occupants of a luxurious bus and killed Mr Chuks owner of a popular Chuks Supermarket in Lokoja and a yet to be identified person.
The DAILY VENDOR gathered that the incident happened around 6am along Chikara village at the Geregu- Abuja road.
The police spokeman of Kogi State William Ayah confirmed the incident saying two people were killed and unspecified people were herded into the bush.
Most people especially journalists in Kogi State who spoke with The Daily Vendor expressed shock over the incident saying the young man Igbo man was born in Lokoja and he is well known to all.
The late Chuks is reported to have just finished building his own mall in the state capital where he recently relocated the supermarket.
The DAILY VENDOR learnt that the gunmen usually come out of the bush in that spot opening fire on all vehicles to force them to stop before robbing their victims.
