Finally the Emirates flight conveying about 256 Nigerians evacuated from Dubai has landed in Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State.
THE DAILY VENDOR reports that the flight which was earlier scheduled to land in Lagos at about 3pm, made a u-turn back to Dubai after a pregnant Nigerian woman onboard the flight went into labour.
However, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama confirmed the arrival of the flight in Lagos at about 7:40pm.
The Minister revealed that the pregnant woman has given birth and mother and child are doing very well in the hospital.
In-line with the NCDC guidelines, upon their arrival, the evacuees are expected to proceed immediately on a 14-day isolation
Onyeama tweeted “The Flight conveying 256 Nigerians evacuated from Dubai has landed Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.”
Earlier in the evening he tweeted “Presidential Taskforce on #COVID19 Press briefing: with regards to the evacuation of Nigerians back home – A woman went into labour on the evacuation flight from UAE today. The flight had to return to land. Mother and child are doing very well in hospital.”
