The Ogbete Main Market Traders Association (OMMTA) election scheduled for Saturday August 8 has been stopped.
This is contained in an interim injunction granted by an Enugu High Court.
Presiding Justice Azubuike Onovo in his ruling ordered the OMMTA electoral committee or their agents, the respondents, servants and or any other from proceeding with the process pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.
The order is sequel to a suit filed by a presidential candidate in the election, Chief Stephen Aniagu, challenging his disqualification.
Respondents in the suit includes the chairman of the electoral committee, Rev. Fr Nnamdi Nwankwo and nine others.
