About two persons were reportedly killed while others sustained bullet wounds when suspected armed robbers attacked a police station in Enugu.
The invading hoodlums numbering over 20 attacked the Unity Police Station Ibeagwa at about 10:pm Sunday.
The station is located along the Enugu/Ugwogo/Opi-Nsukka road.
An inside source told Everyday News that the police killed two of the hoodlums while 3 policemen were injured.
Our source also confirmed that the intruders also succeeded in carting away 2 police riffles from the station.
The suspected armed robbers reportedly stormed the station and scaled through the police station fence.
There was exchange of fire with the police on duty during which two of the hoodlums were shot dead.
Efforts to get police reaction failed as the Police PPRO, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, could not take his calls at press time.
