India will play its first football match in the South Asia Football Federation (SAFF) Football Championship on October 3.
The Indian Blue Tigers will slug it out with Bangladesh National Team.
India had defeated Bangladesh by 2-0 in the 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in June this year. As a result, India will be mentally ahead in the first match against Bangladesh.
Then on October 7, 8 and 11 India will play against Sri Lanka, Nepal and the host country Maldives respectively.
The top two teams will play the final on October 13 after the Group League.
The Indian National team is currently practicing at city of Kolkata which is the capital of one Indian State of West Bengal with 24 footballers.
The team’s football coach Mr. Eger Steamch has focused on the warm-up match.
The Indian Tigers will play a warm-up match against Nepal in late August and early September.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt however, that some more selected footballers will be joining the national camp too.
The West Bengal Chief Minister Mrs Mamta Banerjee conveyed her best wishes to the Indian National Football team.
