West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday dubbed the Bhartiya Janta Party ( BJP) a “rhetoric party” and said she would defeat the saffron camp across the country in the coming days.
Rhetoric means the language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect, but which is often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content. It is worthy of mention that Mamata Banerjee, who lost to BJP’s candidate by 436 votes in the recent West Bengal Assembly polls, needs to be elected within six months to retain her chief ministership. Now she is fighting in Kolkata’s Bhawanipur area bypolls.
Addressing a public meeting, Banerjee, who is the Trinamool Congress candidate for the Kolkata’s Bhawanipore area’s bypoll on September 30, criticized the Center for not allowing her to participate in a global peace meeting in Rome and claimed that this is done purposefully.
Such efforts will not be successful in stopping her at any means. Mamta Banerjee’s TMC (Trinomul Congress) would no longer be limited to Bengal and was politically prepared to take on the BJP on an all-India level. She stated
“BJP only offers lies and hatred. If someone raises a voice against them, they will pitch the central agencies against him or her. They (BJP) are the party of a dancing dragon, who will remove your name from the list of citizenship from India.
The TMC supremo also accused the saffron camp of bringing in outsiders at Kolkata to create disturbances during the bypolls. “The BJP thinks it can do whatever it wants, just because it is in power.
Mamta also stated that “BJP party does not comply with human rights and democratic rights in the states where it is in power – Uttar Pradesh, Assam or Tripura.
Many people have died due to Covid in Uttar Pradesh. They did not allow those dead bodies to be cremated and threw them in the Ganges. Human rights violations happen regularly in these states, but the Human Rights Commission will not visit these states,” she said.
In the coming days, we will take on the BJP at the national level and defeat them everywhere.
Speaking on Trinamool Congress’s plan to enter BJP-ruled states, she said, “TMC party have recently started working in Indian states like Tripura, Goa, Assam and also in some other states. BJP should be ready as TC party is ready to take political fight out of Bengal.
The enthusiastic TMC boss again slammed the Center for not being allowed to attend the global peace meeting in Rome, where she was the “sole invitee” from the country. “They (BJP) lost, yet they have no shame. They are committing hooliganism here and in another Indian state Tripura and BJP envy TMC now. Since I was the only invitee to the global peace meeting, they did not allow me to go. But I will say whatever I have to say. I will send my message,” she said.
Regarding her Rome visit, she said – many state Chief Minister do not take permission for these things, but I maintain discipline and etiquette. I try my best to maintain good relations with the Ministry of External Affairs and always support our country on external issues. I was not allowed to attend events in Chicago, China, Cambridge and St. Stephens. How many times will you stop me from participating in these programmes,” Banerjee asked.
This is to state that the politics in West Bengal has developed within a paradigm of normal and transitional phases. The West Bengal’s last assembly election result shows that BJP has made inroads in the legislative assembly but fell miserably short of its target of 200 seats.
The Mamta Banerjee led TMC’s vote share in 2021 has gone up to 48.3 having secured a 9 per cent lead over the BJP. Other political parties have become irrelevant with their combined vote share coming down to less than 10 per cent.
The people of West Bengal had totally denied BJP. It is somehow confirmed that Mamata Banerjee “Bound To Win” Bengal Bypoll, people of Bengal are only waiting to see the margin.
