Southeast exit suit: Ijaw group makes joinder application

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to join it as a defendant in the suit filed by four Northern elders seeking the exit of the Southeast from Nigeria. The joinder application was filed on behalf the INC and its incorporated trustees by two legal practitioners, Dickson Sofiyegha and Temedie Peter-Great. The four plaintiffs, Nastura Ashir Shariff, Balarabe Rufa’i, Abdul-Aziz Sulaiman and Aminu Adam, in the originating suit numbered FHC/ ABJ/CS/538/2021, are urging the court to grant their prayers to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate incidents of the Civil War. Soludo’s emergence blessing to Ndigbo, says CG-IPOB

Pro-Biafra activists under the platform of Customary Government of Indigenous People of Biafra (CG-IPOB) have assured Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of their support. Leader of the group, Barr. Emeka Emekesiri in a felicitation message described Soludo's emergence as a blessing to the Igbo nation. He said the CG-IPOB believed in the struggle for self-determination by the rule of law, politics and diplomacy. Emekesiri who doubles as chairman of the Governing Council of the pro-Biafra group said the CG-IPOB was delighted to congratulate Prof. Soludo on his victory at the polls to emerge as the Executive Governor of Anambra State.
