Bequeath legacy of chastity, purity to your children – Bishop tells Fathers

Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, and Bishop of Awka diocese, Anglican Communion, The Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim has charged fathers to distinguish themselves as defenders of faith by rising to the challenge of new and transformed life.

In his congratulatory messege to the fathers to mark the 2020 edition of Fathers Day, the cleric urged fathers to make fear of the lord paramount in their daily living so as to attain the full blessings of God.

He said that such would be a gateway to becoming God’s agent of transformation in the society.

He said: “Let us distinguish ourselves as defenders of faith; men who love their wives and keep their homes in peace, and who live in chastity and purity as examples for our sons and daughters”.

While citing Psalm 128: 1-4, Bishop Ibezim reminded fathers of the need to fully understand their true position in God to ensure they become faithful trustees of public fund and steer clear from every appearance of evil.

He added, “To hate evil, stand on the word of God and to be aware of God’s presence continually are the tripod on which every man that calls himself a Christian must stand.

” The fear of God is a lifestyle, not just an act. When men truly fear God, they become God’s agents of transformation at their place of work and in the family.

“Jesus Christ built his ministry on twelve men. They were not superman. Faith and sacrifice did not come easily to them, nor were they always humble. But they allowed God to changed them, transforming them into paragons of virtue and Godly living”.
