Beam your searchlight on banks and leave money sprayers alone – Anambra lawyer tells EFCC

A human right advocate, Barr. Anthony Kelechi Agbasiere has called for the release of controversial cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, currently serving a six months jail term for abusing Nigerian currency.

He said there is nothing wrong in spraying money when one is in a happy mood.

Agbasiere spoke in Awka, during birthday celebration of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pool King Estate Nigeria, Hon. Gabriel Chukwunwendu.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier in the month, arrested Bobrisky, over currency mutilation and naira abuse at Pinnock Estate, Lagos State, and was subsequently sentenced by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Agbasere, who is also a Knight of Saint International, maintained that spraying money was just a demonstrated of appreciation to a celebrant or someone doing something good.

He advised EFCC to beam its search-touch on Nigeria banks, saying lots were happening there univestigated.

He said, “For me, I do not see any wrong in that. To my little understanding, Bobrisky was in a happy mood, spraying the naira before the incident occurred.

“Currency is being sprayed across the globe, even in the United State of America, dollars are also sprayed there without any intimidation or harrassment as being practiced in Nigeria.

“The US dollar has no value than naira. So government should free Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, a.k.a, Bobrisky.

“I advise the EFCC to channel their search- touch into the Nigeria banks because alot of things are happening there univestigated.

“The National Assembly members are there stimulating their energies on uneccessary things. This is misplacement of priority. The lawmakers should focus more on things that will move the country forward.

“I have been advocating and I challenge members of the National Assembly, if they claim they are patriotic, let them pass this laws in Nigeria: election rigging and embazzlement of public fund as capital offence (death sentence), which I strongly believe that with these two laws, Nigeria will be better for all of us.”
