State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Mr. Isidore C. Chikere has charged officers and men of the Command to live up to their responsibilities by being civil and apolitical in accordance with the ethics of the Corps.
He also urged them to exhibit high level of professionalism, shun all forms of corrupt practices ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Chikere, gave the charge at a seminar organized for Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Department and Unit aimed at widening their operational capabilities.
He noted that the training was necessary to build competence and capabilities required of supervisory officers to successfully plan and execute operations aside acquiring knowledge required of them to perform before, during and after the general elections.
Delivering a lecture on Intelligence gathering and report writing, Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, Anambra State Command, Mr. Enoch Pawa noted that most security breaches experienced in the country was due to lack of synergy among security agencies.
Pawan, represented by Barr. Joseph Okechi revealed that the nation required sincere intelligence information sharing and collaboration among relevant security stakeholders for a crime free environment.
Also speaking on the topic, “Arrest, Bail and Preventive Justice” the command legal officer SC. Adedayo Awodun enumerated the rules guiding the administration of criminal justice in the country and human rights.
In his lecture on proper way of obtaining statement from suspect, Assistant Commandant Amadi Marcel, warned against most common mistakes that can jeopardize successful prosecution of suspect (s) at the law court.
The Coordinator of the lecture series, Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi said the seminar provided a rare opportunity for participants to perform above board within their respective areas of responsibility in a bid to boast security and sustain surveillance in and around the State.
