Bauchi PDP To Refund Aspirants Who Lost Council Primaries

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State chapter, on Tuesday, disclosed that it has plans to refund aspirants that lost out, the fees collected from them for the purchase of nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship slots in its primary elections, prior to the local government elections in the state.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Yayanuwa Zainabari, announced this while speaking to journalists at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi.

According to Zainabari, the move was to demonstrate fairness, noting that it is only fair to refund the aspirantss so as to assuage their loss at the primaries.

He also maintained that the decision is aimed at demonstrating that the party is a united entity and members are working as a family to ensure victory at the polls.

The PDP spokesman added that the ruling party in the state has done its homework very well with a view to emerging victorious in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

He disclosed that the party will be presenting about 20 candidates for the chairmanship positions, and also 300 councillorship candidates for the October 27, local government elections.

In addition, Zainabari gave assurances that the PDP-led administration in the state will provide a level playing field for every candidate, adding that the elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner.

He agreed that the elections were long overdue in the state, as they were last held 12 years ago, noting that that is the reason why people of the state are eagerly awaiting the elections day.
