Nigerian Artiste and actor, Banky W, has decided to take a step and stand up for women and children.
He took to his Twitter page to urge Nigerian Lawmakers to raise the age of marriage to 18 years.
In Nigeria, when a girl is sixteen, she’s ready for marriage. The Artiste feels the age is too young.
He said “Some Nigerians try to hide behind religion as the reason why they should be allowed to marry children. But if Saudi Arabia – the kingdom, the headquarters i.e Mecca, can raise the age of marriage to 18 (because it’s the right thing to do) then Nigeria has no excuse.”
