As part of the steps to address the current security situation in Kaduna State and neighbouring states in the North-West the state government has placed a complete ban on the use of motorcycles (Okada), for commercial or personal purposes, for three months in the first instance.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper correspondent in Kaduna reports that the state’s Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security of Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this on Wednesday, 29th September 2021 while addressing newsmen at the NUJ Kaduna state council.
Samuel further stated that the following measures become effective from Thursday, 30 September 2021, adding that government ha also banned possession of or wielding of dangerous weapons, adding that Tricycles are allowed to operate only from 6am to 7pm.
According to him all tricycles must remove all curtains, adding movement of all tricycles are restricted from dusk till dawn (7PM to 6AM).
He further maintained all vehicles used for commercial transport must be painted in yellow and black
