…Appeals to President to recruit more personals into the security agencies
Worried by the incessant activities of banditry in Sokoto State especially along the Eastern axis, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal donated 98 vehicles to the security agencies in the state with a view to strengthen their operations.
He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him audience and responding proactively to his plea in ensuring that all insecurity issues in the state are tackled quickly.
Governor Aminu also wants the President to recruit more personals into the security agencies in other to increase their manpower in the nook and cranny of the country.
The Governor who was speaking Thursday morning at Government House Sokoto while donating the vehicles said the state and 23 local Government Areas in the state collaborated to purchase the vehicles.
He urged the security agencies in the state to work together in harmony and share intelligence amongst themselves to ensure effective security in the state .
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal said the donation is to complement the effort of the federal government in tackling insecurity in the country.
While thanking the security agencies in the state for their sacrifices and tireless efforts in restoring peace and order in the state, he promised to set up fully equipped communication control centre in the state to enable citizens interface with the security agencies.
He assured the citizenry of the state of his resolve to tackle all forms of insecurity in the state and called on all to support the security agencies as it is everybody business.
The Governor give kudos to the President of Nigeria His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari who gave him audience and responded proactively to his plea for assistance in tact the security issues.
He advised that there should be more recruitment of able bodied Nigerians into the security agencies to increase their manpower and ability to respond to insecurity in the nook and crannies of the country.
Tambuwal also thanked the state COVID 19 task force committee for collaborating excellently with the security agencies in dealing with the pandemic in the state.
The state Governor call on all the people of the state to stop playing politics with security, health, education or traditional institutions as he is not adversed to constructive criticisms but not outright lies to score cheap publicity.
The state Deputy Governor Alhaji Manir-Dan Iya said all the vehicles are fully equipped with digital communication gadgets and will be distributed to the police, military, civil defence and Department os State Security. He thanked the governor for giving go ahead to procure the vehicles.
AIG Zone 10 Muhammadu Mustapha while receiving the vehicles on behalf of the security agencies thanked the governor for the kind gesture and promised that it will be used judiciously.
