Following the directive of the Kaduna state APC -led government of complete ban on ‘the operations of Okada in the state, some residents of the state have started grumbling as a result of massive suffering and other difficulties to move around.
It would be recalled that the decision of the state government to place the ban was to checkmate the activities of bandits in the state.
The ban which has now entered the third day in the state, checks by The Daily Vendor Newspaper correspondent in kaduna showed that, many resident in the state who prefer to jump the Okada to beat traffic while going to work and their businesses have resorted to trekking.
Findings by our correspondent revealed that security agencies especially, Police, KADVIS and Vigilante Operators have since been deployed by the State Government to impound machines whose owners have flouted these directives and to arrest and prosecute the offenders.
Our further finding revealed that thousands of machines have since been impounded by the security agencies.
The state government has also placed a partial ban on Tricycle operators in the state as, they are expected to operate from 6am to 7pm, and those plying the town in private cars, or transporting passengers or taxi operators are to paint their cars in a particular colour, but citizens alleged the government keep introducing all these to generate revenue.
