…says Ndigbo, particularly Anambra, have a big stake in Nigeria
The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has described Party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as unifier.
He said Atiku would help unite the various segments of the country like late Vice President Dr. Alex Ekwueme having been the Vice President to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s eight years on the saddle.
Addressing mammoth crowd at Ekwueme Square, venue of the PDP National Campaign rally of the Southeast zone, Ayu urged the people of the state to give the party’s flag-bearer their votes, stressing that an inlaw, sometimes is better than a son.
He ssid “Anambra is PDP and I am happy with what I am seeing here even APGA is the son of the PDP. In future we shall bring APGA people back to their home which is the PDP.
“I want to assure you that Igbo, particularly Anambra’ have a big stake in Nigeria, there is no village that you will in this Nigeria that you will not see an Igboman who is a business man.
“So, the Igbo in terms of business are the most travelled people in Nigeria. So,you need every part of the country and I like the indomitable spirit of the Igbo nation, particularly Anambra’ people.
“I believe with all hands on deck and under a very competent and experiences leader, a man who’s already your inlaw, a business man and man who will take care of all security issues in this country and stabilize the country I believe Nigeria will be a better place.
“Listen to him and give him your votes. Some times an inlaw is better than a son. I believe Atiku is going to change the climate of this country.” he stated.
“Hold your PVC, give is your votes and come together and let’s transform this great country,” Ayu added.
Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the 2023 general elections Alhaji Atiku Abubakar pledged to give a new lease of life to the Southeast region through improved security of lives and property, economic boom and guaranteed infrastructural development of elected President next year.
He specifically pledged to dredge the River Niger to help boost trade and economic growth of the commercial people of the Southeast, activate the Onitsha Port and embark on massive construction of roads in Anambra’ state and other parts of the geo political zone.
Earlier, while hosting Atiku at the governors lodge, Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, said nation’s development should be the utmost priority for any politician or candidate.
Governor Soludo stated this at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, where he recieved in audience, the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa
Atiku also promised to vote $10billion towards enhancing Small and Medium Scale Businesses as well as empowering millions of unemployed youths even as he vowed to give adequate attention to the issue of insecurity that has give Nigerians cause for worry across the nation.
Atiku who spoke to the mammoth crowd that thronged the popular Ekwueme Square venue of the PDP National Campaign rally of the Southeast zone held in Awka the Anambra’ state capital, urged Ndigbo to cast their votes for him and the party in next year’s polls for a purposeful leadership in the country.
He expressed appreciation to the party leadership, members and supporters for the massive turnout, stressing that they should replicate the gestures with their permanent voters cards (PVCs) to vote for the PDP.
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP in his remarks urged the people to work hard towards ensuring that the party emerges victorious in next year’s polls.
Okowa who is also the Governor of Delta state reminded the party members that Atiku is the best product and the best experienced candidate among all the contestants for the seat of Presidency, assuring that he would rescue the country and her citizens from the bad condition the present government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has kept the nation.
On his part, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Director General of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal said that with the PDP Presidential candidate victory is about to repeat itself in the country.
Tambuwal who is also the Governor of Sokoto state pointed out that in 1979, Dr. Alex Ekwueme who was a founding father of the PDP became the Vice President with Alhaji Shehu Shagari as president.
While urging the people of the state and southeast zo e to cast their votes masiavely for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar come next year’s reaction to emerge as President he stated that “Atiku is only competent and experiences as a unfier who is most prepared and preferred Presidential candidate amongst all the other cAndidates.
