APC inaugurates 8,326 agents, targets 25percent votes in Anambra

…says with their canvassers and ward executive as well as agents the figure is as good as being realized

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has commissioned a total of 8,326 ward agents and canvassers towards securing statutory spread for its Presidential candidate, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Sen Margery Chuba Okadigbo at a meeting with party stakeholders, described the election as a must win for the party, adding that Anambra must be counted among the states that delivered Tinubu.

She said breakdown of the figures indicated ten different canvassers were to work at the 362 electoral wards in the state with three man ward executives across the 362 wards in the area.

She said, “The law says 25 percent spread in 24 states but we are going to secure over 25 percent and with these canvassers and ward executive as well as our agents the figure is as good as being realized.

“People underestimated what we can do during the rally and they felt that we cannot do it and on that day even other political parties were shocked at the crowd of supporters that came to Awka and we are going to replicate this on the election day and even do more.”

State Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike attributed the party’s success story in the state so far to roles ward executive have been playing adding that the past have been put behind them.

On his part, Chairman Campaign Committee, Cheif Azuka Okwuosa recalled how the party lost principal positions in the 2015 elections but expressed confidence that the party would be in the main stream of the APC government in the country.

“Our people don’t know that it is not good to put their eggs in one basket. We had a slot for Senate President and we lost it and also lost a lot of principal political positions.

“But the South West divided themselves with 45 percent in PDP and 55 percent in the APC and at the end of that election they did not lose out.

“In our own case we lost everything and this will not happen again because we have that impetus to win and this election is the greatest opportunity for us to be part of the new government of the APC, ” he said.
