Angry residents invaded COVID-19 palliative warehouse in Cross River, cart away with items

COVID-19 palliatives were reportedly discovered to be stored in the state warehouse in Cross River State.

The state warehouse located in Murtala Mohammed Highway in the state capital which contained thousands of cartoons of noodles was reportedly found and invaded by angry residents who fought their way into the warehouse to grab some share of the palliatives.

In the video that surfaced on social media, the residents flooded the warehouse and were seen carting away cartoons of noodles.

The warehouse was the fourth to be looted by hoodlums since the #EndSARS protest began in the country two weeks ago.

Hoodlums had also on Thursday looted the facility housing COVID-19 palliatives in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos.

Two warehouses housing food items were looted by residents in Osun and Kwara States on Friday.

The palliatives were donated to state governments by a private-sector group, Coalition against COVID-19 (CACOVID) earlier this year.
