Three persons, including a woman were feared killed in two seperate fatal accidents in Anambra state.
While two persons on a motorcycle reportedly lost their lives along Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University road, the woman died along Oyeagu Agbagana by Agbagana-Awka road.
An eye witness who simply identified himself as Chima said the deceased were knocked down by a speeding Sienna vehicle.
A trader who witnessed the other accident, said the Mercedes trailer lost control following brake failure and rammed into the other 4 vehicles.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi seven persons, including 3 males, and 4 females were injured in the crash, attributing the cause of the crash to brake failure.
He however said his men were unable to get details of the Igbariam crash and had to leave for their safety as crowd at the scene became aggressive, throwing stones at them.
While commiserating with the deceased families and wishing the injured victims quick recovery, the FRSC boss urged motoring public to service their vehicles regularly and ensure their vehicles were in good condition before hitting the road.
He said, “A fatal Road traffic crash Occurred at Oyeagu Agbagana by Agbagana-Awka road, today 14th December, 2021 at about 14:49hrs.
“The crash was between 5 vehicles, a tipper and four commercial buses. 12 people comprising 5male adults and 7 female adults were involved in the crash.
“The vctims were taken to Urban Hospital Agbagana where one female adult was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and the deceased deposited at the hospital morgue.”
