Anglican Bishop warns Knights, Dames against homosexuality

The Bishop Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo, Sunday warned over 133 Knight and Ladies of St Christopher, five Dames to avoid any act of homosexuality and other unholy and godly activities but to be of good example to the church and the people.

He said the Diocese would not hesitate to dekit or derobe them if found guilty in their new position.

Addressing newsmen after their inauguration, Nwokolo urged them to make themselves soldiers of Christ and people of unquestionable character and loyalty to God and the church.

Describing them as “Mighty men, women, people who are given to the work of God, men and women who are fully yielded to God,” Bishop Nwokolo urged them to be selfless and work for God anywhere they found.

Earlier in his sermon during the inauguration Church service for Knighthood of St Christopher, at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Nwokolo urged the Dames, Knights and Ladies to take their inauguration as a challenge to do more for God and not to go and relax with the impression that they have arrived.”

“Today we have enlisted noble men and women into the Army of God and appeal to God to make them effective.

“Knights and Ladies are mighty men and women of God, the Church, the Bishop, and God, chosen to be effective to the work of God and should not be wanting.

“You should be the people to be trusted and be relied upon by the church and the congregation, you should symbolize David for the Church, you should be men and women God loves and trust, you should not be where God work is lagging behind.

“The challenge of being a Knight in the church of God, is that any where there is a hindrance to the work of God, a Knight and Lady will say not in my presence.”

Some of the people inaugurated into the Knighthood of St Christopher, were a former Member of House if Representatives, Hon. Cyril Egwuatu, gospel music singer, Mrs Chinyere Udoma and African Independent Television, AIT, Delta State Correspondent, Dr Mrs Ethel Obiakor
