Anambra rescues mentally challenged mother, two kids

A mentally challenged woman and her two infants, a boy and a girl have been rescued by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue.

The victims were rescued at Ufuma junction, Orumba, North Local Government Area of the State,
after two days frantic search across Orumba North and South following an alert from a concerned citizen of the area.

The Daily Vendor learnt that the woman and her kids were located at Ufuma with the assistance of Ufuma Vigilant Group.

“The Honorable Commissioner, swung into action on receiving a call from a concerned citizen, who alerted her on the terrible condition of the trio, after two days frantic search across Orumba North and South.

“Following the rescue, they were cautiously relocated to Awka, cleaned up and subsequently resettled in a government owned facility, to be rehabilitated and reunited with their family and the society,” the source added.
