Anambra monarch raise alarm over threat to life

Traditional ruler of Nawfia, Njikoka Local Govt Area, Anambra state, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo, has raised the alarm over alleged threat to his life.

Briefing newsmen in his palace yesterday, the monarch said his life was in danger, pointing accusing finger on a certain lawyer in the community.

He said, “They want to kill me like they killed my father, late Igwe FFBC Nwankwo. I don’t want to die like my father who was assassinated on 15th February 2000 in his palace in the evening”

“Just three days ego in front of my palace some youths were fighting and stabbed themselves and it is like they were rushed to yet to be disclosed hospital.

“On the case between him and some people he dragged to court for accusing them of usurping his traditional function he said that the case was struke out by the Presiding Judge .

Presiding judge, Hon justice Onyinye Anumonye, of Neni High court struck out the claim of the monarch because his counsel did not properly endorse the originating summon and that of the defendants.

He exonerated the state government from attack against him adding that he was not a party to attacking the government for any reason as he was not ready to take his seat as the governor of the state.
