Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Tony Olofu has sued for peace and tolerance among political parties to ensure the sustenance of existing public order and public safety in the state.
The CP in a statement issued by the Police spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, assured the people of the State that the Police commitment to working with other patriotic stakeholders towards ensuring public order in the State before, during and after the elections.
He said, “In an effort to sustain the existing public order and public safety in the state, the Commissioner of Police, *CP Tony Olofu, today 22nd of September, 2021, has sue for peace and tolerance among political parties as he interacted with the Parties representative in Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
“The CP is assuring the good people of Anambra State that the Police is committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders toward ensuring public order in the State before, during and after the political rallies.
“Meanwhile, the CP being the head of internal security in the state shall always be on ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure all things being equal the rallies shall be hitch-free.
“The CP therefore, calls on members of the general public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with the security agents in the course of discharging our constitutional duty.”
