Anambra government seals illegal gas Plant at Nnobi

The Anambra State Government has sealed off a cooking gas plant, illegally operating at Awuda, Nnobi, Idemili South Council Area of the state.

THE DAILY VENDOR correspondent reports that the state government’s directive that operators of cooking gas plants should remove their skids by themselves or risk government action has begun to yield positive results.

The Acting General Manager, Anambra state Physical Planning Board, Mr. Nwabufo Anene, noted that such structure is not acceptable within that location, as it is surrounded by residential buildings.

Mr. Anene, expressed displeasure at some operators who disobey government’s directive, stressing that the Directorate of Petroleum Recourses approval is subject to the state government’s approval in siting such facilities .

He also urge developers to follow laid down guidelines in executing their business plans, by asking the right questions and getting approvals to avoid incurring avoidable losses.

While warning illegal operators of gas plants to remove them to avoid sanctions and advised developers, who still have the intention of erecting such illegal structure to learn from this.

Present at the operation were the Executive Chairman of the Board, Barrister Chike Maduekwe, officers of the task force State Physical Planning Board, among others.
