Anambra CP presents N43m cheque to 20 families of slain officers

…says the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Echeng Echeng on Tuesday presented cheques worth N43,289, 71,17 to 20 families of deceased Police officers attached to the Command.

Echeng who made the presentation on behalf of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, said the gesture is aimed at spurring officers’ to greatness while discharging their statutory duties.

He assured that their welfare remained paramount importance to the Administration of the Force.

“The gesture is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police ” IGP family welfare insurance scheme” aimed at giving succor to the family of Police officers who died in active service. 

“The Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police and it was presented to the beneficiaries,” he said.

While thanking Inspector-General of Police for his relentless efforts towards ensuring a good welfare package for personnel of the Force, the CP urged beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in a profitable venture that would in turn, ameliorate the needs of the dependents left behind. 

The beneficiaries thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the gesture and pledged to make good use of the money.
