Anambra commences fumigation of offices as firm donates fumigation materials

Anambra State Government has commenced the fumigation of offices, streets and public places as part of measures aimed at fighting the coronavirus pandemic in Awka the state capital.

This was made known during the donation of fumigating materials by a private firm to the state government as part of the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in all Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking shortly after the donation, the Chief Executive Officer of the firm Mr. Obinna Okoye said that in line with its social responsibility, the organization decided to embark on the fumigation exercise as a way of assisting the State in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic especially now that most of the citizenry are at home.

He assured the firm’s readiness to assisting the state in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic, by making the environment safe.

The donation which was in response to the state government’s call on corporate organizations, groups and well meaning individuals in the state to support in the fight against the deadly pandemic threatening the world with food items, drugs and other humanitarian services to aid the fight against the virus.

However, the chairman of Awka South Local Government Area Transition Committee, Mr Leo Nwuba in company of some staff of the council, thanked the donor for the gesture which according to him showed solidarity with government in tackling the present condition confronting the world and called on others to emulate the firm.
