The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has disowned a petition to the President, Major General Mohammadu Buhari(retd.), against the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige.
The petitioners had accused Ngige of high-handedness and selfishness, urging Buhari to caution him in order to save the party in Anambra.
But in a statement on Thursday, by the state APC Secretary, Chukwuma Agufugo, the party described the petition as senseless.
The statement read in part, “Our party is not aware of such act exhibited by faceless individuals masquerading as APC members. The party will investigate the perpetrators of such wicked act against our leader, Dr Ngige.
“We commend Ngige’s efforts; recognising the fact that he has sacrificed so much, including his personal comfort and finances to build the party in Anambra State.”
