Anambra 2021: Moghalu donates vehicles to youths, women groups

A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), and Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu has inaugurated a coalition of youths and women support groups for the realization of of his gubernatorial aspiration in the 2021 Anambra governorship election.

The groups were also presented with three operational vehicles to ensure ease of movement in course of their assignments.

The youths and women drawn from the three Senatorial Zones and 21 Local Government Areas of the State, under the auspices of George Moghalu Fans, George Moghalu Ambassadors, George Moghalu Youths and Zimuzo Development Foundation Women Wing, and were merged to become one body to be known as George Moghalu Movement.

Inaugurating the Group in Awka, Moghalu expressed his joy and profound gratitude to the leaders and coordinators of the various groups for their show of love towards him.

He said his target was to record overwhelming victory both at the primary and main election, urging leaders and Coordinators of the various groups to take his simple message of “Ka Anambra Di Ma Ozo” to all nooks and crannies of the State.

While appealing to them to eschew violence in course of their sensitization and mobilisation exercise, Moghalu stressed the need for them to be resolute in their quest to ensure victory for him and the party.

“Although we seek victory, we must go about it in a peaceful manner. We must try to avoid any act of violence; but we must be resolute in our bid to regain the state from APGA,” he added.

Chairman of the occasion, Chief Okey Chidiogo said the interest of the youths remained one of the major reasons Chief Moghalu was offering himself to serve the state as Governor, so as to properly take care of them.

He urged the youths to support Moghalu, describing him an experienced leader and administrator who would not undermine their interests and mortgage their collective future and that of the state.

He said, “Anambra state needs a governor who will protect the interests of the youths on issues such as marginalisation and unemployment.

“The office of governor is crucial because the decisions he takes affect lives and the future of the state. Chief Dr. George Moghalu believes that there should be a better State for our youths.

“He envisages all that is good for them, and this is what he is aspiring to bequeath a better society where they will use their potential to better their lives for good.

“Moghalu respects the youths and will offer the youths all the opportunities they require to maximize their potentials.

“Moghalu is a man well known for his philanthropy, steadfastness and political foresight, qualities which have fetched him enormous goodwill round the state.

“His politics of consistency, discipline and loyalty depicts the kind of character we want as a Governor. George is the kind of leader Ndi Anambra want to have at the Government House, Agu-Awka”.

The Guest Speaker, His Honour Prince Osita Ezenwa charged the youths to always be good Ambassadors of themselves.

He narrated how became a Local Government Chairman at a very young age and urged the youths to always create values for themselves.

He said, “Youths of the state will decide the next governor of the state through their votes. The Statistics are there and they have the number.

“The youths can be a creative force and a dynamic source of sustainable innovation; however they also face issues of poverty, barriers to education, and limited employment prospects and opportunities.

“There are numerous advantages attached to the inclusion of youth in politics, having charismatic and passionate youths who are politically conscious will foster a rapid growth and development in all sectors of the economy.

“Also, the youths are better performers in the area of sensitization and mobilization of the electorate during electioneering campaigns.

“The vibrancy of youths makes them indispensable in politics as such their inclusion in politics cannot be overemphasized.

“If this energy is channeled well into politics it will go a long way to affirm their relevance in the polity of their countries.”
