The Union Home Minister of India, Amit Shah has described an Illiterate person as a burden to the country.
The minister who made this declaration while speaking on the importance of education during an interview said, “An uneducated person is a burden to the country. Because he does not know what rights the constitution has given him. He does not know what his responsibilities and duties are towards the country. How can such a person be a responsible citizen? ”
According to the Home Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi understood the importance of education from the very beginning as an administrator. So his government gave primary importance to education.
Incidentally, another comment made by Amit Shah in the same interview has caused a stir on social media. The Home Minister has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi do not like to speak much rather like to hear more. If any issue is discussed in a meeting, then Modi speaks less in that discussion, on the contrary, he listens more patiently. After attending two or three meetings, then he takes decision.”
But there has been controversy over Amit Shah’s choice of words. Many think that Shah could have been more careful in his choice of words. Because, even if someone is uneducated, he is a citizen of the country. As a citizen, he has the same right to be respected as the other educated citizens.
This remark of the Home Minister is an insult to the portion pf poor country men. In fact, according to the latest census, more than 30 percent of India’s population are till now illiterates. Many of them could not study due to the pressure of the situation. The light of education has not reached many areas again.
Reacting to the home minister’s comment, some senior politicians described Amit Shaw as a disgrace in Indian Politics, noting that he doesn’t have any right to humiliate any citizen of India.
