SENATOR Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, reportedly brought out the names of two past governors of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Messrs James Ibori to the several contracts allotted by the Niger Delta Development Commission, news men gathered.
Senator Akpabio also went ahead to connect Others on the lists delivered to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker, House of Representatives, on July 23, 2020, and they include Senator Orji Uzor, who is the Chief Whip of the Senate, and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, amongst others.
The communique, which was addressed to Mr. Patrick Giwa, the House’s Clerk was additionally duplicated to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation/Minister of Justice, with Reference Number MNDA/HM/04/IV/158.
The titled read: ‘Some Niger Delta Development Commission Contracts Allegedly Given to Some Members of the National Assembly (Senate and House of Representatives).’
The emergency rehabilitation projects attached with them, based on the document, made available to newsmen men, could be recalled that it was granted in 2018 at a value which varies from N400m and N560m each.
One of the projects attached to Ibori according to the statement, was the emergency repairs of Onoghove neighborhood road from Ajanesan to Western Delta University at a price of N485.7m.
Uduaghan was connected to the emergency repairs of Close B, Alhaji Estate & Environs, Rumuodomaya, Port Harcourt at a value of N429m.
Five projects were associated with Kalu, who was just recognized within the report as OUK-Kalu (the project source), and both were located in Abia State valued from N517m to N560m range.
Kalu’s Emergency repairs comprised Ezere-Acha-Ndiokoukwu Road (cost N517.9m) and repairs of Amaubiri-Eluama-Uru Ring Road, Lokpaukwu, Umuchieze (cost N560m).
Others connected to Senator Kalu includes Ndi Oji Abam-Atan Road ( costN523.7m), the Okafia-Ozuitem-Bende road (cost 508m), and Ozu-Amuru-Abam Road at the price of N523.4m.
The document further revealed, the price of the twelve (12) projects associated with Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, situated in Imo and Rivers states.
However, some documented NDDC projects linked to Ararumw include emergency repairs of Anara-Okwelle-Umuna Road, Umuelemai-Aba branch road, Okpara-Road junction-Ogili Community all in Imo State.
