Again Tragedy Hits Kwankwaso’s Camp as 6 Supporters Die in Auto Crash

Tragedy struck the camp of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso, over the weekend.

THE DAILY VENDOR learnt that no fewer than six supporters of the former governor of Kano state lost their lives in a motor accident.

The tragic accident occurred in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, when Kwankwaso visited the state for a meeting with stakeholders of the party.

It was gathered that a vehicle conveying the supporters of Kwankwaso lost control and somersaulted several times, which led to their death.

Four victims were said to have died on the spot, while two others died in the hospital.

Several other occupants of the vehicle sustained various degrees of injury and are receiving medical attention in an undisclosed government hospital in the state.

It was however learnt that before returning to his base, the Presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, visited the families of the deceased and condoled with them over the unfortunate incident.

Meanwhile, the Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, has lamented the sudden death of the NNPP supporters.

He condoled with the families and the party’s leadership over the unfortunate incident.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, and made available to our correspondent in Lafia on Tuesday, Sule also urged more caution as the country inches towards another political campaign.

He prayed that God accepts the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident and wished those who sustained injuries quick recovery.

THE DAILY VENDOR recalls that four members of the NNPP in Niger State were killed in an auto crash on Monday, 18th of July, 2022 along Minna-Suleja highway while returning from Abuja after attending the unveiling of Bishop Isaac Idahosa, as presidential running mate to Senator Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso had on the said Monday unveiled Bishop as his running mate for 2023 poll in Abuja.

The accident which claimed the four ranking members of the state executive of the party occurred on Monday night as the party chietains were returning back to their base.

The branded vehicle they were traveling in ran into a stationary truck between Lambata and Lapai.
