Our attention has been drawn to a badly written press release from an unknown organisation that called her self Advocate of Good Governance of Nigeria, in which spurious allegations were levelled against the Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) and the acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the institution.
We wouldn’t have glorify the faceless group with a reply to their unsigned press release, but we are constrained to do so to correct the erroneous impression the unknown group is trying to create among the members of the public in Nnewi and beyond.
The group claimed to be made up of patients, staffs, staffs’ relations and so on, yet none of the officers of sponsored group is bold enough to sign the tissue of paper rolled out to the public for the purpose of causing dissatisfaction among the peaceful NAUTH family.
The claim of abuse of due process, graft and celebration of corruption by the group is nothing but a lie from the pit of hell. One begins to wonder why the useless Advocate of Good Governance of Nigeria has not approached the anti graft agencies in the land since they assumed to know so much about happenings in NAUTH.
We dare them to present their case before EFCC, ICPC and other anti graft agencies rather than causing breach of peace in the hospital premises.
From the claims made about the examination for the intending Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the institution, It is obvious that the group is being sponsored by disgruntled persons who didn’t do well in the examination which held on Monday.
Rather than disturbing the public peace, the sponsors of the unknown and faceless Advocate of Good Governance in Nigeria should rather bury their heads in shame for their failure to make impact during the examination.
The same sponsors have at one point or the other raised non issues that were presented in the tissue of paper released today during the breach of peace caused by the faceless organisation and has been adequately addressed.
The call on the federal government to suspend the process of selecting a substantive Chief Medical Director (CMD) on a frivolous ground is not only funny but also laughable.
We wish to state with all sense of responsibility that a health institution like Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) is not a place to play stupid politics of pull him down syndrome.
We wish to call on the members of the public to disregard the spurious allegations levelled against the Management of NAUTH and the acting CMD.
We have been following developments in NAUTH with keen interest and we dare the faceless organisation and their sponsors to meet us in EFCC or ICPC Offices where issues that bothers on graft, corruption and racketeering are treated.
We are indeed very impressed with the reforms the acting CMD, Prof Joseph Ugboaja has occasioned in NAUTH, rather than raising spurious allegations against him he should be commeneded and celebrated.
