The Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state, Professor Charles Esimone has disclosed plans by the institution to establish a COVID-19 Test Centre in the university.
The announcement reportedly triggered excitement in the university community following limited number of tests centers in the state.
Esimone who made the disclosure in a statement, said the Test Centre has been approved by the University’s Governing Council.
He said the centre was being powered by a group of well meaning indigenes of the state.
He said, “Arrangements have been concluded to establish a COVID-19 Test Center in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
“The Test Centre has been approved by the University’s Governing Council.
“The Centre is being donated by a group of well meaning Anambra indigenes.
“The establishment of the Centre is a welcome development for Anambra State where anxiety is mounting over lack of testing.”
