8-month-Old Baby Stolen From Owerri Rescued By Police In Onitsha

Eight month old baby and seven other abducted children between the ages of three and six have been rescued by the police in Onitsha.

The eighth months old, was reportedly snatched from her mother in Owerri, Imo State Capital, while other victims which includes male and female children were abducted from Bayelsa, Aba and some parts of Imo State.

Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Haruna Mohammed, who briefed newsmen said the children were rescued from a baby factory syndicate who specializes in selling children.

He paraded two teenage suspects who were said to be housed by a certain woman prime suspect for the purpose of breeding children for sale.

One of the victims, a 16 year old girl was already carrying about a
six month old pregnancy at the time of the arrest.

Three young men between the ages of 27 and 30 were reported to be in charge of impregnating the girls under the suspect’s custody.

Haruna who represented the CP John Abang while parading the suspects said that the woman whose identity was yet to be
ascertained was in possession of
many children before the syndicate was busted by the Police.

He, however, called on the parents of the missing children to identify
their wards at the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development with enough proof.

Mr. John Obuagbaka, Onitsha Police Area Commander who declined to speak to the press at the event has been popular for busting criminal hide outs through his numerous intelligence network.
