4 notorious cultist arrested in Awka

The Anambra State Police Command living up to her promise of ensuring a crime free state and that all activities of unscrupulous elements are checked and perpetrators brought to book, have arrested another four notorious cultists in Awka.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the command, Mr Ikenga Tochukwu(DSP) revealed this in a press statement.

It will be recalled that two persons were earlier arrested following a clash between two rival cult groups which left two yet to be unidentified young men dead.

“The arrest of two persons was effected by the Command Police Operatives, with the names of the culprits deliberately withheld so as not to jeopardize investigations and possible arrest of other fleeing members.

“Consequent upon that, and acting on credible information, Police operatives attached to B Divisional Headquarters, Awka, at about 5:30am, today 29th March, 2021, arrested four other suspects namely: Kpozoume Alfred Prince ‘m’ aged 28years, Sunday Nwadgazi ‘m’ 30years, Micheal Tyozua ‘m’ aged 30years and Gambo Michael ‘M’ aged 40years in their hideout in an uncompleted building at Miracle area by Ifite Awka.” Tochukwu pointed out.

The PPRO said that operation is still on going to apprehend other members still at large.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala kuryas(CP) while commending the operatives, urged them to sustain the tempo and reiterated the command’s commitment to continuously combat acts of crime and criminality in the state.
